Alwin Wong
Alwin had been the longest serving secretary-general of the International Strategic Technology Alliance (ISTA) comprised of 31 top league universities for advancing technology transfer management and university-industry collaboration. Until his retirement in 2020, Alwin was the key driving officer for knowledge transfer at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University overseeing knowledge transfer and entrepreneurial initiatives. For over 20 years, he has dedicated much of his development work in connecting China’s academic-driven “double excellence” innovation ecosystem to the international tech transfer communities. Prior to shifting some of his focus to entrepreneurship funding programs in 2012, he had spent almost 10 years on managing gap research fund to support applied R&D projects for commercialization.
Based in Hong Kong, he now serves in the International Strategy Committee of AUTM, the ATTP board, and advises various regional bodies and organizations on tech transfer matters.
