Dan Fero

Dan Fero is a co-founder and Managing Director of OMX Ventures where he is involved in all aspects of the firm’s investment activities, covering the synthetic biology, life science tools, and biopharma sectors. OMX Ventures generally invests in Seed and Series A rounds and tends to take an active role in company and team building activities within portfolio companies.

Prior to OMX Ventures Dan was on the venture capital team of Merieux Equity Partners, and before that was with L.E.K. Consulting in their life science practice. Dan holds a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the University of California, San Diego where he studied the cell signaling pathways that control the localization and polarization within complex tissues. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Rhode Island College.

Dan has served as a Board Director or Board Observer for numerous companies including Twist Bioscience (NASDAQ: TWST), Xeris Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ; XERS) Inscripta, TARA Biosystems, Matterworks, 1859, and Cellsonics.
